Hello again!
Life moves fast, and once again there are big changes happening. My birthday is today and I welcome it with a new grey hair, a deeper forehead intelligence line (ha!) and the glorious start to my first E-book focusing on Nutrition and Natural Solutions for Fertility! It has been a long time coming and I'm thrilled to be partnering with my friend and biz coach, the fab Mr. James Roche. (http://infoproductguy.com). Also, my long-time partnership with the Chinese Medical Doctor I have been associated has come to a natural close. I am looking forward to forming some fantastic new relationships in the healing community. As always, I would love to connect you with an appropriate holistic practitioner if you need one. Please refer regularly to my "Holistic Practitioner Partner Page" at http://cynfullyhealthy.com/partners.html and email me if you have a specific need. Remember, I love to hear from you! We all have to reach out for help from time to time. The friend I reached out to luckily referred me to Cynthia. She called me. She called me twice. With an out of control schedule and a to-do list a mile long I really did not have time for me, for my health, for my life. I have time now. Every day I now have time for me, for thinking about what I put into my body. It takes about ten seconds. I am not on a diet. I am on a mission. I am not on a program. I am being educated. This was something I knew could not be done alone. After a short period of time, it is almost beyond explanation how easy it is. I am not limited, I have more choices, and I am actually eating more. My participation with Cynthia has given me the opportunity to get back the lasting healthy feeling a left behind a decade ago. I lost 20 lbs. and I am just getting started! Fall Foods to Harmonize Body and Spirit
Autumn is here! Welcome to the season for harvesting the “fruits” of your labor set forth in the first half of the year. That means it is time to receive benefits from work projects, relationships and of course, your health. The best way to harvest all the wonderful energy of this time of year is to eat in rhythmic harmony with the season. Seasonal eating sets the stage for helping your body stay balanced and stress-free. When you eat foods that are in dis-harmony with this time of the year, your body has to fight harder to keep the energy that pulses through your channels every day clear and open. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (what acupuncture is based upon), the roots of physical dis-harmony can be traced back to energy blockage. And eating seasonally doesn’t just help the bod – it keeps your mind uncluttered and allows your true emotions to surface. Yes, this is a good thing! Guess what causes a majority of energy imbalance in your body, thereby leading to physical illness? Emotional blocks! So go ahead and cry, scream and laugh your way through eating all the following yummy seasonal foods! Many of the seasonal foods for this time are appropriate because they support your body’s natural cleansing pathways. The beginning of the autumn and spring seasons are naturally the best times to cleanse. Some of the foods mentioned below will support cleansing, while others are simply nutritional, energy harmonizing foods for fall. Here are my top picks for foods to focus on right now (September-November): Fruit and Juicing Grapes! Yes, this fine fruit will cleanse and tonify the lungs and large intestine, the organs of autumn. Buy organic, as non-organic ones are often sprayed with chemicals. But don’t become a wino! Citrus fruits and juices such as grapefruit and orange in the morning. Vegetable juices in the afternoon like carrot, beet, celery, zucchini and parsley. Winter Squash These include varieties like pumpkin, hubbard, butternut and acorn. Although these are more building foods than cleansing like the juices, they are packed to the rim with immune boosting anti-oxidants. Squashes have also been used to heal migraines, burns and for the males, the prostate gland. Easiest way to work with squash is to bake or boil. Peel or cut off the thick outer layer and cut the orange flesh into chunks. Then drizzle some olive oil and cinnamon or nutmeg and bake for about 20 minutes at 375 degrees, or make the delicious Butternut Squash Recipe below.
Garlic Stinky but definitely one of the most healthful substances on earth. It actually contains micronutrients like calcium, phosphorus, Vitamins B and C, and acts as both an anti-bacterial and anti-viral. If you can eat it raw, go for one clove a day! Mix with a little applesauce to take away the burn. Your partner may run away, but you sure are gonna be healthy! And there are lots of stories how garlic wards off evil spirits and vampires. If you have any vampires in your life, just eat a few and smack ‘em with a big kiss. Remember that diet changes should always be slow. Think of adding or deleting up to only two items per week in your diet. Once that becomes habit, add or delete something else the next week. Have fun with it! With food, like life, we are meant to enjoy the journey as much as the final product.

People often ask me to suggest a high quality Multi-Vitamin/Multi-Mineral formula. The one I use in my practice with much success is: Isotonix Multi-Tech, with or without Iron (Click here for product details and to order online) The Isotonix line is liquid, which means it is both pleasant to take for those who don't like pills, and it is 90-95% absorbable, compared to the average Multi in pill form than only absorbs up to 40%. Governmental guidelines suggest that women of childbearing years, especially those with heavy menstrual flows, should take a Multi Formula with iron*. Men are generally recomended to take the formula without iron*. *Please check with your doctor before starting a new supplement regime.
